Good brushing starts with the choice of an adequate tooth brush, use new brushes which do not hurt the cheeks and the tongue. It must reach the teeth located deep in the mouth. The bristles must be round, of the same height and be smooth or medium. The brush must be exchanged whenever the bristles start to lose their shape.
The child must brush the teeth as follows: keep the teeth closed and brush them with circular movements in the outer side of the teeth. Brush the inner part of the teeth, where you chew, with back and forth movements. Brushing must begin in the outer side of the teeth (the side facing the cheeks), then brush the inner side (the side facing the tongue) then the top side (where we chew the foods). Special attention with the last teeth (those in the bottom of the mouth). They must be carefully brushed, like a windshield wiper.
Hygiene must be completed with the use of dental floss which cleans the places where the brush cannot reach.
How to use: After cutting approximately 40 cm of dental floss or tape, wind one edge in each finger. Wind the largest part in one hand until there is a small space in the center.
Hold the dental floss or tape with the fingertips and delicately introduce between the teeth until it touches the gum. Pull the dental floss or tape against the tooth. Make back and forth movements from the gum towards the tip of the tooth as if you were scrapping. Unwind form the finger a new piece of tape and clean the next tooth and repeat with all the teeth, mainly the ones at the bottom of the mouth as they are the most attacked by decays due to the difficult brushing.
The habit the rinse after brushing the teeth is recommended, because the liquid penetrates the areas which were not cleaned due to the difficult access. The ideal is that the dentist surgeon indicates the appropriate product.
Help to prevent decay in the teeth grooves. They are applied by the dentist, avoiding this way the decay appearance.
Considered as one of the most unpleasant ones, usually the deeper the decay the stronger the toothache is. When it reaches the dentin, we fell pain when eating sweets and drinking cold beverages. The pain will only stop completely when the dentist identifies and treats its cause. Therefore, at the first signal of toothache, even if very light, look for your dentist.
But to avoid that try to brush your teeth whenever you eat something. Look for natural foods such as vegetables and fruits and avoid excessive sweets and sodas. Visit the dentist regularly and brush your teeth calmly, mainly the teeth at the bottom of the mouth (as those are the hardest ones).
